ABOUT US

We’re on a mission to help organizations build better AI systems and help people to make sound choices in selecting responsible AI-enabled products or services. Our vision is to create a more just and equitable world by improving the outcomes of AI technologies used in both the public and private sectors.

We are particularly passionate about the intersection of technology and social justice, or as we call it, AI + EDI. It’s at this intersection where we believe organizations can align with societal values to build a more diverse, inclusive, equitable world by taking responsibility for the actual technologies they build and use.

I'm Katrina Ingram. For over two decades, I held senior executive roles in not for profit and corporate organizations in the technology and media sectors. Then, in 2017, I walked away from my executive role and became a grad student. While I was back in school, I attended a talk with a prominent AI researcher who shared concerns about how some artificial intelligence was being built and deployed in ways that are unethical and harmful. Afterward, I asked him who was working on this problem and when he told me “not enough people”, I signed up to learn more about it. That launched my journey into the world of AI and ethics which became the focus of my master’s research.

I started this company because this is incredibly necessary work as we increase the role of AI-enabled technology across every domain. There are many people involved in building AI/ML solutions and implementing digital transformation projects, but there are very few people right now who understand the wide range of issues involved in AI ethics. There are even fewer who have the skills to help organizations apply practical solutions to build, procure and deploy responsible AI.

"I’m particularly passionate about ensuring that marginalized and vulnerable communities are not only protected from harmful outcomes, but also have an active role to play in shaping our future."
